OK, I finally have sorted out, how to get the Eloquence family come back home.
Thanks for all feedback and assistance. But it seems there is some trouble in
WE7.2B1, in handling voice switching. I now have been playing around, and can
duplicate this on a steady basis. Hopefully, GW can sort out what is going on,
and make sure of a fix, before the final release.

And, just a small note, the stuff about going via DecTalk, doesn't work here. I
am running a local version of WE, and GW is not including DecTalk with this
version.

I have tried this out with a long line of SAPI voices, and it happens exactly
the same on each one of them. I also have tried turning off all scripts, to
eliminate any scripting conflicts.

Here is what happens:

If you switch to a SAPI voice, and then close down WE, and then restart it; it
comes up with the SAPI voice loaded. Just as it should. If now, you try to open
the WE ControlPanel, go to File / Synthesizer, and scroll to Eloquence, then
tab over to the Engines section; no voices are showing up.

If you, at this state exit the dialog (click OK), then close down WE, and
restart it; here Eloquence is all back and fine. This is a bit tiresome
process, and I am unable to find any good reason for having to 'drag that
family of voices out' this way. I did play a bit with the Use As Backup Synth
checkbox, but it has no effect in here. Just wanted to have all possibilities
cared for.

Eloquence should realy be available, no matter which voice happend to be
active, when WE was started.

Subject: Eloquence has gone for a vacation

Yesterday, my WE7.2B1 froze, with no other ways to get it up again, but to
restart the computer. I was, at the moment, using a SAPI voice. Now I want to
switch back to Eloquence, but when trying to do so with the help of Voice
rotor, I am told 'Eloquence Reed is not found'. OK, I thought, if he is playing
hide-and-seek, that is fine with me. I just will go to WE ControlPanel, File \
Synthesizer, and find him there.

Yep, that is what I thought. When getting into the dialog for choosing synth,
I can arrow to Eloquence, but when tabbing over to the list of installed
voices, it is empty. Absolutely NO ONE of the Eloquence family is at home. I
have tried to restart WE, even the whole computer, several times - to no avail.
All Eloquences have gone for a vacation; and that is without noticing me :(

Has anyone gotan idea, as to what I can do, so as to get back Eloquence?
Allright, there would be the chance of reinstalling WE, but I really wish there
is a bit less drastic way of doing things.

And to GW: You know, cases like this, was somehow easier in the 6.1 version,
since you could plug in your CD, and reinstall the SAPI version of Eloquence.
Would it be possible, that later versions of WE would have a 'repair' feature,
in the installation process. I have seen this on quite a few software, and it
does a great job, in many cases, reinsuring all registry intries etc is correct
and up-to-date. Woudl have been great, if WE had such a feature, making it
possible to recover when something like this takes place.
