Another way to set the clock, is to go to the SysTray, by WIN-B. Press
UP-arrow, and you should be on the Clock. Now press ENTEr, and you are taken to
the Time & Date control, similar to going via ControlPanel.

hi, it is one of those wonderful things we have in this world choice. the
choice to use different things to get the same job done. for example I use a
program called say time to do this. it reads the time every 15 minutes and of
course I can use it to make sure my time is up to date.
choice is a wonderful thing.
also the poster was having problems finding the date time control panel in
the windows control panel so I thought this might be an easier alternative.

Well, what I do wonder, out of curiosity, is why you need a third-party
software on your computer, so as to have the time automatically updated.
If you go to Control Panel, and either press the letter D, or use your arrow
keys, till you get to the DATE & TIME, then press Enter. You now are in a three
tabbed control. The first one is for setting the time, the second is for
adjusting the time zone you physically are located in, and the third, is called
INTERNET TIME. To quickly get to the third tab, which is the one we want for
auto-setting time, either press CTRL-TAB twice, or SHIFT-CTRL-TAB once.
Here, the first choice is if you want the time to automatically be adjusted
for the future. If you regularly are connected to the internet, this might be a
good idea, so hence, check this checkbox, by pressing the SPACE bar. Then press
TAB.
You now land on a list of available servers. By standard, I do believe there
is two, but if you will have more choices, don't despair. Use your arrow-keys,
to choose the server you want. Basically, they will be the same, but might have
a second or two in difference, so you will just have to play a bit. When
finished here, press TAB once again.
You now land on a button, saying UPDATE NOW, which should be
self-explanatory. Press ENTER here, and your time will be automatically
adjusted, right away. Note, there will be no feedback that the time has been
updated. If you want to confirm, you can always have WE read you the time, by
pressing INSERT-T. When you are pleased, press TAB twice, and you are at the OK
button, press ENTER, and you are back to your Control Panel.
If you checked your checkbox for Automatic Time Update, your computer will be
updated regularly, when connected to the internet. I do hold it is about once a
week, and unless your BIOS battery is old, this will do for most systems. If
you make sure you have set the computer to the right time zone, in tab 2, it
should be correctly set, and even keep track of Daylight-Time, for the local
area.
The above is taken from Windows XP, and I am sure, those of you who use newer
OS, will fill in, if there is any differences here.

so what do you see when you open the windows control panel? you should be
able to press the letter d tell you arrive on date and time. press enter here
and you can set the time from there.
another way to do this is open a command prompt and type the word time
followed buy enter.
you can then type the new time like this 18:32 so that format is hh:mm
the date can be set buy typing date from the command prompt and the format for
this is mm-dd-yyyy so for example
date
05-01-2010
or like I said before you could get a copy of about time and let this
program set the time for you.

with window-eyes as well.

Btw, I tried to press the keys after going to the control panel.
However, nothing Happened. All I heard was D. Nothing changed. I was just
taken to the blank screen,
Windows D just took me back to the place where I was before I started.

will be listed under d.
another good way to do this is to get the about time program. this
will set your clock based on the atomic clock.

I should know this, but somehow forgot how to find and set the computer
clock.
I know I have to go to the control panel, but from there, I don't
remember which keys to press in order to find the clock.
I was thinking about this recently, and I wanted to set the clock but
