Jo, It sounds as though you are referring to Window-Eyes starting up automatically as you boot up your computer rather than waking up your computer from stand-by or hibernate mode since you mention hearing the startup music. If that is the case, I had a similar problem on one of my computers. Automatic startup just seemed to stop working after installation. While this doesn't explain the problem, I found that if I went into the "Startup" options and then pressed OK to get out, aftermaking sure the settings were as I expected, Window-Eyes again starts automatically. In my case, I didn't have to change anything, just going into the Startup settings dialog straightened things out. I only had to do this one time after installing the new version, and Window-Eyes has started every time since. Since your problem sounds very similar, and since I know this has worked in a few other cases, it is worth a try.
