Gary, all I can say is that I use this exact combo at work every day, and don't have the problem, so this is going to be a hard one to track down.
I guess I'd suggest looking to see if there are later sound card drivers for your card? next, I'd look to see what outlook add-ins you have; if there are some you can live without, try disabling those to see if that helps. my pc came with an outlook add-in for some free software, and it turned out to be the cause of frequent crashes. finally, there's a script for eloquence you may want to try; it protects eloquence against certain rare character combinations which cause crashes.
