Hi Vic, Yes, I know about that wireless button that is right to the right of
the power button but that has nothing to do with why the wireless had
gotten turned off. That is like a togle on and off sort of like a hardware
firewall. Before what I was talking about when the wireless was turned off
had to be gone into the software program called Wireless Assistant to turn
it back on. All that being said, WinEyes can not see this Assistant and so,
How could I have turned it off? Impossible. So, I imagine that I do need it
but will have to have sighted people to run it when that problem crops up
again. Best Regards, Craig R.

Also a lot of laptops, notebooks, and netbooks have a manual switch to
turn wireless on and off. This is for airplane mode.

Ok, It was the HP utilities that I was confused about. Onetime the
wireless
had gotten turned off and my sighted tech had went into the wireless
assistant which is in flash to turn it back on and then there is the
startup
repair that runs befor windows starts up. I wonder if these programs
weren't in there, would I need them? Thank you, Craig R.

Hi Craig
I don't use the HP utilities. Actually for HP, Dell, and any other PC
I
remove all of them.
To work with the wireless cards I will use the software that comes
with
Windows. It works well and is accessible.
For some Linksys cards it is better to use their utilities. In those
cases, usually navigating with the mouse cursor does the trick.

No problem with Window-Eyes running on an HP mini tower and HP
NetBook.
