John
I followed exactly what you did,but I selected the option which is plain number 1 and pressed enter. The next view is simply the header and footer display showing you where the page number has been inserted, i.e. if top of page then the number 1 will appear in the header row and if bottom of page in the footer row. Just press escape to get out of this and the job is done. Michael From: bjcolt [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: 16 May 2010 17:32 To: [email protected] Subject: microsoft word o t Dear list, Apologies for the off topic post but does anyone know the procedure to insert page numbers in Microsoft word 2007? Any help would be very much appreciated I have attempted it by pressing alt then right arrow to insert. I then tab down to page numbers and press enter. I am then given a choice of where to place the numbers, either at the top or bottom of the page. I press enter on the bottom of the page. I am given other options here of different styles of numbering etc. I press enter on the number style 1, 2, 3 etc. I then get an option similar to inserting a header and footer and can't go any further from this point.
