speedtest.net works very good with accessibility, click on the begin test
button, wait about 10 seconds, and press arrow keys, it will show you your
download and upload speed.

There are lots of places to check speed. I use testmy.net. It is a
strange page.
Once the page comes up, do a find for download and you should land on
download test.
Then search for large and the second occurance should say largest test.
Give it
a bit after this link and search for results. Mine comes out at 5.1 meg,
but I'm
paying extra for that on dsl.
