No matter where the money come from, whether from our own pocket or from any
sponsor, it will go to GWMicro. Hence, it is only right that they produce
good service for what they received. GWMicro, are you there hearing our
feedback?

Subject: Edit Box Issue: Re: WE or Gmail problem?
Hi,
Good point. We pay $895 and can't even reliably enter text into edit
boxes. Amazing. This is also why my eyebrows went up when GW released
their Booksense and Booksense Buddy software. I hope they don't do
what FS did--start neglecting an already faulty screen reader because
of their hardware line. They're a small company as it is, so I imagine
they don't have many resources to go around. Lately though, I've found
myself saying the same thing about W E that I did with JAWS. Fix the
bugs first before adding new features. Specifically, make edit boxes
100% reliable and not 80%. Fix the W E lock up issues that JAWS DIDN'T
EVEN HAVE. A couple days ago W E froze on me on a university computer.
If I didn't have admin access to restart wineyes.exe, I would have
been completely stuck. They did an amazing job with their 7.2 release,
so I'm sure they have enough sense to fix these issues. After all, I
hope GW uses their own screen reader...and maybe if one of them gets
frustrated enough, they'll submit this as a high priority fix.

It's totaly true. In South Africa we don't even get help from the
government - I baught WE out of my own pocket and this is the service
I get. It is just sad that a small issue like an eddit box cannot be
addressed by GW Micro.

I'm surprised this is still happening with 7.2 despite GW saying they
have made changes to their OSM and in an earlier update they said W E
handles edit boxes better. I remember when I first got W E a year ago,
and noticed how poorly it read the Notepad window. I'm shocked that
they were on version six back then and this problem existed. I hope GW
responds to this thread soon and lets us know if they are finally
paying attention to the problem. Otherwise I think forwarding this
thread to their support department is in order, since I am, just like
the original poster of this thread, sick of this issue.
Well stated that we should not feel as if GW is doing us a favor. In
the end, it is our money that went into the screen reader. Some people
make the argument that blind people typically get government agencies
to buy screen readers for them. In my case, and I'm sure a lot of
others here have this situation too, I purchased W E out-of-pocket
because my agency had already purchased JAWS for me about five years
ago.

I respectfully disagree.
Accurately reading in edit boxes is important, and should never happen.
it's a basic thing.
If the competition can do this 100 percent, then
we should be able to do it too.
Peace.
Ps,
We pay good money for we so we shouldn't go
begging or feel like we are to ask for solutions, or address problems.
The good folks at gw aren't doing us a favor,
they are paid to make us a product to address our needs.
Being graceous of course and having good manners
should always be the operating mode, but let's
never forget the relationship here.
Solutions to our problems isn't a gift, it should be expected.
Now it's a different story for an open source or
free or maybe a low cost product, yes, I know the
situation has improved with edit controls,
and that's appreciated.
But this needs to be fixed once and for all, my students have trouble
with
it,
and it is a show stopper sometimes.

Guys,
First, we need to look at how often this happens.
seccond, if it doesn't happen much, then we shouldn't be complaining
about
it.
I'm not trying to be mean here, I'm just trying to state my opinion.
Thanks for reading.
