Chip: yes - not withstanding the language differences - you have what I mean very clearly and correctly understood. However: are you sure that v2010 courses have already been published, as I have not yet seen any promotional material. Of course - will do a search so that I am better informed than I currently am. Also: I live in New Zealand and some of your U.S. copyright laws prevent us from purchasing materials - this is hit and miss but APH (for example) tends to be generally unhelpful in this regard.

I think the things you are calling "running headers" are page headers; which you can edit in older version by going through the view menu to view the page header. The other things, I think you were calling "sub headers", have nothing to do with page headers, but are a style which can be applied to a paragraph; this style changes the appearance of the text (usually bolding it and making it larger, and sometimes centering it); however, it's position on the page is not changed, while a page header when entered, always appears at the top of the page. None of this basic info has changed in Word 2010, only how you achieve it has changed.
