Hi David, Sorry .. I should have been more specific..
I am very familiar with online weather software. And sites. This is not what I was after. Rather a piece of hardware that I can have local outdoor and indoor sensors to gather weather info. i.e. in out temp. Humidity. Barometric pressure. Wind speed. Wind chill gust. Rain fall. There are many units out there, but they all seem to just b able to dump the data gathered onto the pc via usb, this is done by operating the units touch screen and set it to tx the data. Now u see the problem..lol. The only ones I have found that talk don't do the range of data I want. They all just do indoor out temps. And humidity. Perhaps ranfall. But cant find one that does barometric pressure.. Sorry for the confusion.. So what I am after is a unit that gathers my required info and then lets me be able to view it live via the pc.. or at least have the pc be able to remotely refresh and gather the info off the unit without the need for sighted help just to get current temp barr. Etc. Cheers, J.J. From: David [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Sunday, August 08, 2010 5:53 PM To: Blind Melon Chitlin Subject: Re: OT. Weather stations and WE OK, first of all, did you ever try the WeatherAloud software from nextup.com? It gives you most of what you ask here, and there is a fully functional fifteen day trial downloadable from their website. Second, what this actually does, is to gather the info, and put it out in speech feedback, in an accessible software. If you want to go on the net, and have a complete list of all the info available in the net browser directly, why don't you just go to the actual website. you find it at weatherunderground.com Go to the edit box, type in things like "London UK", or whereever you want to check, or input your local airport's international code. Then hit Enter. You will be taken to the website, holding several infos about weather conditions, forecast, sun and moon state, barometics and much more. First you are there, save the page in your favorties, and go there, whenever you want to know. Or set it as your homepage. ----- Original Message ----- From: Blind Melon Chitlin <mailto:[email protected]> To: GW INFO <mailto:[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, August 07, 2010 10:55 PM Subject: OT. Weather stations and WE Hi all, I have spent the last few days trolling google , with not a lot of luck. Does anyone know of a weather station that is pc accessible? Meaning one that I can use a pc to see the weather data in real time, not having to download the data from the weather station unit itself? There are a couple of talking models. But they don't have the features I want, like barometric pressure, rainfall, wind speed chill direction. Temp humidity. Etc. They will do temp. wind rain, but no barometric pressure. Etc. Any help appreciated. J.J. If you reply to this message it will be delivered to the original sender only.
