Well, I'm now getting my downloads so the desire to experiment isn't too
strong. I can uninstall the download manager, but since I haven't made any
changes in my system before audible made their changes, I'm sure the problem
is coming from their site. Are you using audible and having these issues,
or are you able to just click on the download link with browse mode on as
usual and getting the downloads?

Can you uninstall the download manager? Maybe this is more the problem.

Raul,
I'm using ie 8, xp service pack 3, window-eyes 7.2, and a 32bit
machine. Indeed, with the current audible site, if I do not turn
browse mode off before hitting enter on the download link, I get the
error as follows:
Audible Download Manager
There was an error downloading your Audible content. Please try again.
File Assembly error: Invalid Audio Format.
OK
However, if I navigate to the download link for a given book, then
manually turn off browse mode, I can hit enter and the download goes
as usual. No need to route the mouse or hit the left mouse button,
just make sure to turn off the browse mode after locating the correct
download link.
My machine hasn't changed in the last couple months, and since audible
has changed their site, this is now the method I need to successfully
download from them. I'm glad there's a fix for the problem, and it's
very fortunate that Russ forwarded a message from the blind-audible
list about the fix. I'd never have thought to try to turn the browse
mode off manually before hitting the download link with the enter key.
I don't know if the problem is in WE, or something to do with the
combination of software I'm using, but I am not the only person
getting this error message. And I think audible is still in the
process of tweeking their site, so that adds to the complications.
Thanks much.
Steve
