Chip, I am using 7.2, I just noticed the problem start when I upgraded to 7.11. I have not yet downloaded the newest 7.2 relase that was just announced. It will take a few days for me to do that since I don't have administrative access to install on my this company-owned computer.

It's not consistent. What I can visually see is that the box pops up immediately, but WE doesn't always say it's open for a couple seconds. I've been playing with it for the past few minutes to see if I can find a pattern. In one case, it took 10 seconds before I heard WE say "Find and Replace". Other times it says it immediately. When there is the delay, I also see that the last word I searched for is highlighted and I cannot start typing a new word for those few seconds until WE speaks.. So what happens is that I will often start typing an miss a letter or two at the beginning of the word I"m searching for if I'm not patient. Seems like an odd side effect of WE, but that was when I noticed it start. I use Excel every day and didn't notice this issue before the upgrade. Just a nuisance, so I'm wondering if any one else has noticed this behavior. I am currently writing a tutorial on Excel, and Window-Eyes works well with all the basics. I will keep a log of stuff that doesn't work and send it to GW when I am finished with the tutorial. So far, only the Formula Bar lacks complete access, but all of its functionality is offered right within cells as you edit them or their contents Move onto any cell and begin to type and data goes into that cell, and overwrites any data already there. Move off a cell and then move back onto it, and Window-Eyes reads its contents. Use Window-Eyes read field name and read field contents keys to reread the cell label and its contents.
