Whoops, looks like I upset one of them 'grin'.
Actually, I got a humorous and fun message from a fellow believer on
this list about my message, and we traded some silly punns about it.
I don't consider off-hand casual personal observations about the
social tendencies of consumers to be a personal judgement against any
particular person or persons 'grin'.
Extend your gray matter a little bit, and read the rest of my
message, in context, and you may eventually see the redeeming
qualities of it, and the morsel of wisdom with in.
But in case you don't I'll summarize and clarify below.
Translation,
Firstly,
the latest and greatest versions of software may not always be the best choice,
secondly, you always have a choice.
Of whether to use it or not, and or to use many other possibly more
suitable tools.
Inteligent folks weigh the pros and cons, and make choices based on
what's best for them, they don't let one company dictate to them what
they will or won't use.
So there you have it.
Have a nice day.

Only lemmings
that run panting at the latest and greatest stuff just because it's out.
Most corporations don't do this,
and seriously, what can you do with ie9 or 8 that you can't do with 6 or 7?
is it really that much more advanced,
Basic internet functionallity doesn't change that quickly,
most sites like banking sites and shopping and such stay compatible
with a wide variety of browsers because it is to their benefit to do so.
What you want to bet with still over 60 percent of people running
xp and folks running an older browser that commercial sites won't
alienate their clientelle?
Lots of folks do custom plug-ins
or their own download manager,
like amazon for instance,
basic internet functionallity just doesn't change that much, just
like imap and pop 3 and so on and so forth.
So you wan to use xp, don't upgrade to the latest browser, common sense.
Don't be a lemming.

Hi. You know what, Shawn? I was tempted to respond to your question as to
why Microsoft was abandoning customers by not supporting I E 9 in XP, by
saying, probably for the same reason Windows 98 or 95 aren't supported,
however, when you mentioned support for XP until at least 2014, I stepped
back a bit.
I suppose Microsoft has to start somewhere with not supporting certain O
S's, but hmmm, indeed.
