Support simply means that if there is a problem with existing customers than you would pay for a support plan will receive technical support for the operating system. Support also means that if there is a major security flaw in the operating system updates will be provided to rectify that security flaw. Support however does not necessarily mean that new software will be developed for the operating system. This is why when we were discussing upgrading to Windows 7 I pointed out at the time, but it would be necessary to upgrade to Windows 7, at some point simply because newer software will no longer continue to function under windows XP because most developers here shortly will stop developing for that old operating system. So yes, well it will be supported until 2014 it will not necessarily receive new development. To keep this subject on topic, has anyone actually tried Internet Explorer 9.0 Beta with Window-Eyes? If so how well does it work? Also, does anyone happen to know if Internet Explorer 9.0 supports defining which soundcard audio streams and multimedia use this to be very helpful to Window-Eyes users and screen reader users in general.

I wonder why Microsoft would abandon Windows XP for Internet Explorer 9. I thought Windows XP was gonna keep being supported until 2014? Hmmm.
