I understand your point, and I do not disagree. But there should still be 
answers to problems with the Skype scripts, and these do not seem to be 
forthcomeing.

Hi,

The great thing about Skype talking is you do not need to touch skype's
interface.  Also it is just a suggestion for people that use both the
scripts in conjunction with skype talking.
For example, if someone sends you a skype chat and you are in Microsoft
word, hit a keystroke, and skype talking will repeat it to you.  Press
another keystroke and the chat window is focused without having to
alt-tab 15 times.  Press another global keystroke to hear the last skype
event incase you walk away from your computer.  In the next version you
will find a way to globally move through your skype event history.

I also like the way you can press a global hot key and Skype Talking
brings up your list of contacts in a  nice standard list view.

I use the skype scripts when I need access to skypes UI or I want to
check voicemail that is not available in Skype Talking as of yet.  For
me, Skype loads and I put it in the tray where it doesn't bother me.

Oh, and Skype Talking is free.
