I am surprised that nobody has tried Lotus Symphony 1.3 with Window-Eyes since
it is free and based on Open Office. I have heard folks ask on the list about
the accessibility of Open Office with Window-Eyes. Version 1.3 of Lotus
Symphony is based on the first version of Open Office, and the beta versions
that are being tested now are based on version 3.0. I understand they still
have accessibility problems with the betas. As I mentioned in my previous
message, the word processor and spreadsheet in version 1.3 work well with JAWS
for Windows 11 and 12. I have loaded both Word 2003 and Excel 2003 files and
saved them after modification. I do get warnings each time I load such files
about possible incompatibilities, but I'm not sure what they are.

I guess I'll just have to install Window-Eyes 7.2 on my netbook and give
Symphony a try. Since I haven't installed Window-Eyes on a computer without a
CD drive before, I suppose a trip to the Knowledge Base is in order.

Does the free IBM Lotus Symphony Office Suite work with Window-Eyes 7.2? I
put it on my Asus netbook running XP Home, but I haven't yet installed
Window-Eyes. I have discovered that the word processor and the spreadsheet
work quite well with JFW 11 and 12.
