That's a great question!  It is okay if you don't have a wheel, or a mouse at 
all.
There is an option that allows you to use the keyboard arrow keys, up and down.
In the final version you will be able to assign the keys you want to use, but 
for now the option uses arrow keys to scroll through objects.  A similar 
options uses left and right arrow keys, to change focus categories.  In this 
way you don't even need a physical mouse at all.
