Thanks for your help with this.With another sighted friend's help, we
determined that the problem was due to a line spacing setting I had changed in
the Normal template. I am still getting used to MS Word 2010.

is it possible that something in the install went wrong?.. or is it a program
that you have been using for a long time?.. ive had situations like this where
win eyes has it focused, and keybord is focused on it, but the curser isn't....

My sighted cousin couldn't read the text she was typing in MS Word 2010,
even though the document settings and font appeared to be correct. Window-Eyes
7.2 also reads the text, and it prints correctly. Otherwise, the screen seems
to be displaying properly in other programs. What might have changed? I have
Windows XP Service Pack 3.
