Well, I wouldn't exactly call that an explanation.  I'd call that an
observation.  It still doesn't explain at all why!  I thought those add-ons got
appended by the GW mailserver, so why should some messages get them, and others
not?  I'm not complaining. It does pique my curiosity, though.

    Not without explanation.  Its been said that HTML messages do not have 
the footer appended.  Its not news.  That said, there are plenty of messages 
coming to the list that do have the footer.
