Hi all, In relation to the recent discussion on this list about the upgrade to WE 7.5 being a paid upgrade I thought people might like to read this article that I thought makes some wise observations about why all software should not be free. The article is at
http://goo.gl/053qL I'm happy for WE 7.5 to be a paid upgrade given the new features that are included in this version and I'd also be happy if WE 8 is a paid upgrade too whenever that is released. Another reason why I'm happy to pay for software is because I believe in some cases the old saying "you get what you pay for" definitely applies to software. Having said that I do use free and open source software as well. I think there's a place for both free software and software that you have to pay for.
