I'm using the eloquence that has the five different voices for various
languages. I find them first by locating the eloquence entry in the
treeview, then tabbing over to the fifty voice/language choices.
These languages are U.S. English, German, UK English, Mexican Spanish,
Castillian Spanish, Finish, French, Canadian French, Italian, and
Brazillian Portuegese. There are fifty choices in that list, and I've
given them in the order they appear.
If I switch to the DecTalk Access 32 Window-Eyes, I get the same
sluggishness. That choice is higher up on the synthesizer list and does
not have a selection of voices.
I see there is a Sapi option in the treeview, and when I tab from there
I see three choices:
at&t Labs, AT&T Natural Voices, 1.4 desktop, Mike
AT&T v.1.4, Mike 16, Sapi 5
and the last one is Microsoft Sam, sapi 5
So I think I'm using the Eloquence tied to window-eyes, but am not sure.

Steve, is the Eloquence you are using the ECI one which is tied

It might be worth seeing if turning off all scripts, now apps, helps
at all. It isn't that you can't run scripts, but if turning them off
helps, then it is worth seeing if
a particular app is causing the problem.

first this is a beta. one of your jobs when testing beta software
is to
provide us with how we can reproduce the problem. you should also
expect
problems because this is beta software. so if you want it to work and
work right don't try a beta. also I for one see no difference between
7.2 and 7.5 when working in list boxes list views.

Made no changes since I installed the beta but I find it sluggish

think I had a little more put in), the Reed setting for eloquence
is the
voice. BTW, I changed to the gw voice an no appreciable change.
Also,
as I
review this message, it seems a little sluggish when arrowing up
and down
through this message. Compared to 7.2 there is definately a
sluggishness
creeping in, especially in listboxes and the index of email
messages.
