I have to agree with these findings. I find sluggishness in OE as well.

The same things happen to me on a vista 32, 3gb ram machine. Plus, WE
loses
focus in that edit box such that I have to tab to the search button and
then
tab back to the edit box to find out what I've typed.

I am running the beta on a Win 7 64 bit machine. I am using Google for
my search engine and have Google Instant turned off.
When typing in the search edit box WE is very sluggish in repeating the
characters I type.
