index the number one is on a list. for example if you are in windows
explorer and the list view has 26 options and you are on option 5 then the
index is 5 of 26.

Just to clear the air a bit, are you talking about inbox or index?
Inaccurate information is easy to put out and difficult to correct.

hi, just because this information is shown in the status bar doesn’t mean
that the index count is provided. this has been asked and what we have been
told is the index count is not provided to msaa or UIA. if the count is not
there there is nothing for window-eyes to report. if this is no longer the
case I will stand corrected but it has been the case for a number of years
using outlook.

Hello Jim,
I believe that you are incorrect, for the Inbox does list the total number
of items currently in there; so why wouldn’t the current count be available
also?

hi,
I don’t believe that outlook provides this information. for msaa or UIA.

Hello
WE 7.2 as well as 7.5 does not announce the index number for an item when
you move through any of the lists (Inbox items for example). So it is
difficult to be sure where you are within a list – especially when WE doesn’t
read items promptly.
