first you should really consider upgrading internet explorer. you are
running IE6 and that browser has a sign on it saying shuet me I am already
dead and don't know it.
second if your having trouble with the bing bar just remove it in add remove
programs. when you run internet explorer 8 you can pick a search provider
to use in the search section of the tool bar. I personally use the Google
accessible search.

Ted,
Gave them both a try with no joy.
Maybe someone can put a little "Ju-Ju" on Microsoft.
Thanks for the try.

Jim:
I am still using IE 6 with XP but still have trouble with
Bing at times. Here is what I do, trying both approaches:
1. When Bing comes up, turn off browse mode
(shift-control-A and then afterward, hit control-E
or try:
2. Get into internet explorer and hit alt-V and then type
an e and it will say search. If it says checked, then hit
enter. If it
does not say checked, then hit the Escape key.
One of these seems to work for me when Bing rears its ugly
head. Regards: Ted Larson

Subject: Getting MSN & Bing out of Task bar
I'm running XP Pro SP3, WE 7.5 Beta and IE8.
When I open IE 8 from desktop it leaves the IE 8 - msn &
bing button on the task bar instead of just opening up the
blank home page. What am I missing to get that off the
task
bar?
Any help would be appreciated.
Jim
