HI, WELL IF THAT HAPPENS AND THERE IS NO STATIC TEXT THEN WE WOULD NEED TO READ THE ACTIVE WINDOW. SO IN MOST CASES WE WOULD GET THE VERBOSITY WE NEED AND IN PROGRAMS WHERE WE DON’T WE COULD ALWAYS TURN ON READ WHOLE MESSAGE BOX AGAIN. OR JUST ISSUE THE READ ACTIVE WINDOW COMMAND.
We'll consider this, but it won't make 7.5. An app could be written to provide this functionality now, if one so desired.
JUST WONDERING WHY WAS THE READ WHOLE PULLDOWN OPTION REMOVED. IT WAS USEFUL WHEN TRYING TO LEARN A NEW MENU SYSTEM QUICKLY. not that I used it much but it was useful from time to time.
Because you can accomplish the same thing by using your up and down arrows. Add Speak Summary to that, and you've got a far more robust system of reviewing menu items than something that just burps them all out at once. It was a redundant option that only one person used, and now we know who that person was. <grin>
