Hi, I have an Asus netbook with windows7 starter. I know I have the hybrid
engine, but it does not show up in my system tray. If I knew what to look
for, I could ask my son when he comes over to check the setting for me. Can
you tell me how to do it from the start menu?
Thanks.
Robbie

The Power engine program on Asus net books controls the power mode of your
computer. Accessing it from the start menu is pointless. However, you can
right click on it from the system tray and choose your preferred power
mode.
The modes are: Super Performance, High Performance, power Saving, and
auto,
mode. You can use FN+Space to rotate among these modes, but if you can't
see
the screen, you would have to be very good at knowing which mode you are
in
and counting to get to the mode you desire.
The Auto Mode automatically toggles the system between High Performance
and
Power Saving Mode, based on whether the computer is plugged in or using
the
battery.
