I cannot work out why anyone would want multiple versions on the one machine - which is of course, quite different from multiple user profiles.
One of the many reasons why I do not like the other main alternative to Window-eyes is that it becomes a pain to uninstall unwanted versions, and although I don't think that GW would ever cause this problem, my experience with the alternative product is that sometimes, start-up between versions is flaky. Conflicts develop over use of the shortcut key (Windows) to start the right version and it all just gets too hard. Then imagine problems with device drivers, general bloatedness of the application - problems everywhere. As Window-Eyes becomes more complex, it still remains relatively small and efficient to install and use. Clearly - people discover bugs with new releases which they believe were not there in previous versions, but I think it better to go back to clean installs if betas are just not to everyone's taste. Betas are installed at the user's own risk, but we all benefit from having a beta programme which GW opens out to the masses. Here's another idea. When a user logs in, window-eyes should be set to detect other window-eyes versions on that machine. Window-eyes could come up saying, "Which version of window-eyes would you like to use for this windows session?" But, just think. You could have 4.5, 5.0, 5.5, 6.0, 7.11, 7.2, 7.5 beta, you get the idea. I wonder if GW might be able to look in to this. ----- Original Message ----- From: Loy <[email protected]> To: "GW-info" <[email protected]> Date: Thursday, Mar 10, 2011 6:28:23 Subject: Re: one suggestion i would like to see. > > > That would be great.
