I had something similar with the beta. It also was using the tip for the
day turned on. I had to boot three times before it came up speaking on the
log on screen. I don't have a personal profile, but have window eyes to
speak the log on screen and also always speak when started. I am wondering
if it has something to do with the tip of the day feature, or something
boggling up as that window pops open. I'm no programmer here, so don't
know, of course.
I ended up turning off the tip of the day feature and have window eyes
loading in the sys tray.
No problem since then. The issue was illusive too, and I couldn't find a
way to reproduce it, but when I turned off tip of the day, it seemed to
help.

Hi all.
Can't duplicate it here. Window-Eyes comes up every time on my Windows 7
64 bit laptop.
Take care.

Hi, guys. I had a weird and scary experience. I’ve had it once or twice
before, but a reboot always fixed it.
I had WE set to speak at the login screen and then to speak in my
profile when I logged in. Every now and then with 7.5, I’d log in and
hear the disk whirring, but no speech would come up. I’d reboot and all
would be well. Today, I had to reboot about three or four times. My
sighted husband could see that it came up, could see the tip of the day,
etc, but couldn’t close the program. We even went to the task manager
and it wasn’t listed in the applications, and he tried to end it in
processes, but it said access was denied. Finally, fortunately, after
the millionth reboot, it came up talking. I’ve changed my setting to not
have it start in my profile, and I’ll start it manually from now on,
until I find out what’s going on.
Does anyone have any thoughts on this, or has anyone else experienced
this? Is there a fix?
