Personally, I use look and stop which does quite well but I am moving towards the other solution call viper by sunbeltsoftware.com Its sort of an accessible interface from kerio personal firewall original started from tiny personal firewall. the suite itself is very accessible as I've been testing it on my test machine and also my vm.

The problem with Eset is that, more often than not, the window asking for access permission for inbound or outbound traffic does not announce itself and it is pot luck, therefore, whether or not you become aware of it.
