That article is no longer valid. I tried to+tab key to bring up list of links and the 17 links have shop and sign in under the s letter.

How are you finding the search settings link?

follow the steps and search settings is not in the list of links when you follow step 4.

The article was last updated 7/30/10.

I just did a google search and had no problems. I did the following:

Went to the Internet and pressed ctrl-O to open the address bar.

Typed in www.google.com <http://www.google.com> into that bar and pressed enter.

I was taken to the google site.

I then found the google search edit box and pressed enter to turn off browse mode.

I then typed in my search querry and tabbed to google search button and pressed enter which automatically turned browse mode back on without me having to do anything.

Mhy information came up.

That's all there was to it. I had no problem typing in the information. When I tabbed to the search button and hit enter, browse mode came back on as it is supposed to do.

This was done on my Asus netbook but I can say that I don't have any problems either on our Toshiba laptop or on an HP desk top at work. Two of these machines are XP and one is Vista. The specs for the home machines are in my signature. The work machine is running I.E. 7 and is on a network.

Antivirus software is also not causing any problems with this. Just a thought for those who seem to be having problems.
