I don't either.

I should point out that I'm not running the script or ap mentioned here. In
fact, I don't run many aps

Yes, that is what I do as well. And eventually, I'll figure it out. Actually
the slow entering of characters into edit boxes start right when I do ctrl-o to
enter an address. A piece of me wonders if the autocomplete feature is doing
something against me here, but I rather doubt it. I'll try and disable that
script to see if it makes any difference. I doubt it will.

In the case of the google main site, as I enter letters into the edit box, I
need to type slowly in order to make sure all the characters go into the box.
If I type quickly, i will inevitably have missing characters in the edit box.
Of course I hit enter to turn browse mode off, and after hitting enter browse
mode comes back on automatically. I suspect there is something else on this
machine which is causing this slowness. But others have reported it in the
past as well. And like I say, on most sites, when I enter data into edit
boxes, no problem in terms of slowness at all.

that's what I do. And if I need to, I can hit enter to turn off google
instant. But it's really no big deal at all. Steve, you may want to check
you computeror something.

I just did a google search and had no problems. I did the following:

1. Went to the Internet and pressed ctrl-O to open the address bar.

2. Typed in www.google.com<http://www.google.com> into that bar and
pressed enter.

3. I was taken to the google site.

4. I then found the google search edit box and pressed enter to turn off
browse mode.

5. I then typed in my search querry and tabbed to google search button
and pressed enter which automatically turned browse mode back on without me
having to do anything.

6. Mhy information came up.
That's all there was to it. I had no problem typing in the information. When
I tabbed to the search button and hit enter, browse mode came back on as it is
supposed to do.

This was done on my Asus netbook but I can say that I don't have any problems
either on our Toshiba laptop or on an HP desk top at work. Two of these
machines are XP and one is Vista. The specs for the home machines are in my
signature. The work machine is running I.E. 7 and is on a network.

Antivirus software is also not causing any problems with this. Just a thought
for those who seem to be having problems.
