Yeah, it does crash a lot, I have an old hardware synth, but I'm
stubborn as a, well, insert whatever you like here just for fun. I don't
mind the software synth, but I don't like hearing it along with my music
in my speakers, that's just me being old-school. I do use elequence for
my reading though, but that's just because the pitch i normally read
things at can be grating and I'm, that's right, too stubborn to change
it. The first synth I ever used as a small child was an echo, do they
make those things anymore? Had one hooked up to a mac g3 with text based
games on it. then I had a double talk that I used with vocalize to learn
to type, then I got my dec talk in 97 and it's still working, minus the
battery. But I don't mind using the dec access software synth on my laptop.
so all of that might have helped, at least to give you another's
perspective. If it didn't help, consider ing light reading, like the
leaflet on famous jewish sports legends that was given out in the movie
airplane.

hi, the dectalk that sips with window-eyes is for the exclusive use
of window-eyes. as the elaquence that ships with window-eyes. that
being said there is a stand alone version of dectalk access 32. you
can use this with open book etc. the later versions of dectalk 6
include sapi 5 support so you can use it with any program that allows
for sapi 5. getting these later versions is a problem though.
as for me I am an old dectalk user been using it for quite a while and
thus I use it with window-eyes. one main reason for this is I have
found over the years that dectalk is not proan to crashes and is more
resposnive then any other software sinthasizer I have tried. this is
interesting to note here because as a hardware synthasizer it was one
of the least responsive devices out there. infact the old window-eyes
manual remarks on this as well as the old vocal-eyes manual.

Subject: question on Dectalk
Hi list,
A question on Dectalk synthesizer. Is decTalk 32 exclusive to WE?
Currently I'm using eloquence but I just started wondering about
DecTalk. How many people use it?
