To all of you:
Another user kindly pointed me in the right direction, and I now have
downloaded and installed the software, and found my PC to be pretty good.
Smile! That's good, saved me from running out and buying new hardware,
whichh always will be appreciated. Smile.
Here is the long way around, to get your hands on this small utility. Go to
http://microsoft.com
and in the first edit box on the screen, enter
Windows 7 upgrade
. Then hit Enter.
On the resulting webpage, hit H once, to go to the first heading, then hit L
to get to the first-coming link. You wil land right on the software link. It
is called
Windows 7 upgrade advisor. Click on the link, then scroll down to the
download button.
When download is complete, install the utility, run it, and follow onscreen
directions.
For the more impatient ones, smile, here is the direct link to the download:

Hope this helps.

Exactly. I'd Google it, but not sure what I'm actually searching for.

To determine which programmes and drivers on your system which will or
will not work under W7, Microsoft has a downloadable programme. Can't
think what it is called right now but someone on the list will know.
Only one minor programme on my XP system did not function properly under
W7 32 bit. The drivers for my scanner and printerwere not available for
64 bit systems but were fine under 32 bit.

Not everyone can get a set of eyes to install the operating system for

that fact. I am running XP and I just upgraded from 7.2 and have not
had
any sluggishness you all speak of. That was why I said something about
MSConfig.

Hi,
I also had this problem under XP with WE 7.2as well as under W98 with
the then version of WE. Removing all but necessary items from msconfig
did not help.
The only solution which did fix the problem was a clean installation
of MS Windows. A bit drastic I know but this is from my experience.
Maybe you could consider moving up to W7 by means of a clean
installation. This worked recently for me.

Hi List,
Ever since upgrading to the latest version of WE, every time it
attempts
to load, it takes forever for it to speak. Not sure if this is a
focus
issue or what the case may be. I've ran Spybot, and my anti-virus is
up
to date. I'm running XP home with all critical updates and IE 8.
Speaking of IE, are there any settings that need to be disabled to
make
it work better for accessibility?
Please help!
Anita
