hello Morné If you don't have OCR software, Adobe Acrobat Pro will be able to perform the OCR function for you. As a student you might be able to get a version at a cost that is more reasonable then products like Open Book or Kerzwiel. When opening up a document with Adobe pro, it detects the fact that you use a text to speech program like WE.

In most cases I can read it with WE. However, then there are other pdf documents which WE cannot read. It just says "blank document" although there are text on the screen. Any advise would be apreceated. regards Morné van der Merwe +27786907783 Then it asks if you want to run it through it's OCR function. May not be as accurate as the other specialized programs, but it often works well enough on these scanned images. Another suggestion that might help is the people using sending you these scanned images might just have Adobe pro. They can run the OCR utility in there for you before sending it. You can let them know they can try the Read Out Loud feature to determine if you will be able to read the document yourself. If the Read Out Loud doesn't do it for them, it will also not work for you. Vic If you reply to this message it will be delivered to the original sender only.
