I use the Acrobat Professional package, version 9. Yes, you do have to buy it but if you belong to any professional organization chances are they will have some type of discount. I think we paid $75 for 3 licenses.
I like this program in part because it has fewer security flaws than the reader but it also has a conversion tool that works fairly well and is automatic for the most part, especially on web pages that end up as pure graphic PDF files, converting them automatically to text. I use this at work a lot because no one can figure out how to set the program for our scanner/copier/printer to export Adobe PDF in readable formats. It gives back images that need to be converted. The nice part is that I took the cost of the Acrobat software off my taxes as a work expense. The safer and easier way is to use pdf to txt from the empowerment zone. http://empowermentzone.com/p2tsetup.exe Steve On 5/8/2011 5:56 AM, erik burggraaf wrote: > Hi, why not just use the adobe one? If not, then downloading it could be a bit of a production, but you just go to adobe.com and follow the download links. > > Best, > > Erik Burggraaf > User support consultant, > Now posting occasionally on twitter at eburggraaf, > 1-888-255-5194 > http://www.erik-burggraaf.com > > On 2011-05-08, at 12:57 AM, Casey wrote: > >> I would like to know what is the best program for reading PDF files from the internet or that you have saved on your computer? >> Also where do you get this program from and what are the best settings to use to make it work well with the latest version of window yes? >> >> Casey >> If you reply to this message it will be delivered to the original sender only.
