Hello Sahar,

What if you go into Apps/App Manager and stop Eloquence Fix? Does the responsiveness improve? Also, do you experience this with other synthesizers or just Eloquence?

Regards,
Steve

I bought the new WE around April 10-15, and when I checked for updates a

up-to-date version.

I am actually experiencing problems with sluggish responses on
the Internet, and in Microsoft Word. I use IE8 and Office 2000.
I have Windows XP. It's like the new WE needs a ton of memory. I
am not sure. My Insert Control S takes a few seconds to respond
to read the status line in Word. I don't know what's going on,
but it is rather frustrating. I do use Eloquence.

I had been saying on lists that I had been finding this
window eyes to be extremely sluggish and unresponsive. It
takes seconds, sometimes a minute before it would respond to
a key press, making going through documents, etc. almost
unbearable. When somebody posted how to change synthesizers,
I decided I would try it. Especially since it has been fixed
so that if you make a mistake, it won't keep the change
unless you tell it to. First, I tried sappy, and the voice I
got was horrible. Next, I decided to change to eloquence,
even though I don't like eloquence. I received the surprise
of my life. With eloquence chosen as the synthesizer, it is
like having a whole new computer and screenreader. It is the
most responsive I have ever seen a computer! So, I was
wondering if the people who were going on about how much
they loved 7.5 were people who were using eloquence.
Further, I was also wondering if the rest of us who were
complaining about the sluggishness were using decktalk.
Which brings me to the third part of my question: why should
decktalk be such a problem if it is something that is
already in window eyes? What is wrong with it? Is there
something I have to do to it, or is it something that GW
micro has to do to correct this in subsequent versions? Pam.
