for me i had to start useing i e 8 again. firefox 3.6 17 is crashing about
every 5 minutes. and some places it crashes every time. like with paypal. it
will crash every time i press the continue button to submit the payment.
thats every time. this does not happen with i e 8. i turned off all add ons.
it also crashes when i have windows mail loaded and it checcks for mail.
running firefox in safe mode and setting back to factory defaults didn't
help either. 3.6.x has been the most unstable versions i have ever used.

Go to the advanced tab and look for the security updates there. Do not get
the new version. As a matter of fact, uncheck that box.

Grab the second version if you can and then tell it not to look for
updates to FireFox. But, do grab all of the security updates.
