DecTalk USB is clearly inferior to the DecTalk Express.
Unfortunate but true.

it sounds sort of like the older dectalk models.

Yes, but DECtalk USB is DECtalk in name only; it doesn't sound
anything like DECtalk. I guess Access Solutions purchased the
right to use the name; too bad they didn't use the actual speech as well.

well, access solutions sells the dectalk usb and that is external
too. gw supports it and it works great with window-eyes and is
cheaper than the express and doesn't need a serial to usb converter cable.

Hi folks:
I would like to know if there is a cable that is supported by
GWMicro that will work in way of a USB to a serial device. I have
a Dectalk express unit that someone gave to me and I am going to
try to hold on to this unit for as long as I can. I understand
that there is a Dectalk access32 version built in to Window eyes,
and I understand there is the Dectalk USB. However, i would like
to have an external speech source as well. If anyone knows of a
licensed source on where to obtain something that GWMicro
supports, please let me know.
Thanks
