Hi Martin

I used to regularly backup phone content, such as SMSs, contacts and the like with PC Suite 7.x, but after installing Wineyes 7.5, this is no longer accessible. I know I can backup my phone content onto the phone's memory card and then copy the backup file to my PC, but that won't work for me, because I use the backup file created by PC Suite on my PC with another program called Noki to extract backed up SMSs and save them in text files.

I have PC Suite running accessibly enough on an XP machine, using Wineyes 7.2 but on my home desktop running windows 7 and Wineyes 7.5 and on my Netbook with XP and Wineyes 7.5 PC Suite no longer works.

I bought a partial work-around, a program for my phone called Best MessageStorer, which can store all messages in a text file on the phone that one can then either copy to a PC or send via e-mail, but it was so much simpler to simply do a backup through PC Suite. If there is any way in which I can get PC Suite to become more accessible again, I would be jubilant.

I have never used PC Suite for phone software updates; I do those directly via my phone.

Kind regards

Christo

    Hello

In my experience Nokia PC suite 7.x used to work reasonably well
with Window-Eyes 7.2, but it became totally inaccessible with
Window-Eyes 7.5. This has been a major blow to me. Steve Clower
went to a lot of trouble to try and get the QT Widgets to work to
make PC Suite somewhat accessible, but to no avail; the thing is
    unusable.

    Kind regards

    Christo

    Hi!
you will have to differ between the ovi suite and the nokia pc
    suite.
the ovi suite seems not to be accessible.
if you installed the pc suite this is mostly accessible. When you
open it it won't speak anything, but just try to press alt! this
will open the menue and cursor up and down and left and right
will read the current item to you.
Most of the windows should be accessible too.
i use the suite for mobile internet access with my cell phone and
to update firmware and so on.
The calendar and contacts part seems to be not accessible though.
    cheers

        Hi List,
Does anyone know if Nokia ovi suite is accessible to
Window-eyes. I did try installing it but got no speech
        whatsoever.
Windows 7, 4 gig ram, 300 hard drive. pentium 3.2 processor.
        Window-eyes 7.5.
        Live long and prosper, John
