Yes, Thunderbird still does the same thing even with the new app,
version 1.06, unless it has changed again. I just tested it before I

This was an issue that was resolved by going to the top of the reply
window and hitting enter and then up arrowing once. For some reason
we repeats the first letter of the original message when you
backspace or back arrow.
