Hello Edward, I tried to get Wolfram to make Mathematica accessible. They looked at the problem a couple of years ago, but decided there were too few potential users to justify the cost.
Also, Word 2010 has a math zone feature that allows you to enter equations in a linear format and then convert them into standard 2D layouts, but again, Microsoft failed to make that feature accessible; I wrote them just about a year ago about the problem. Perhaps, you can investigate the Sage program; it is open source and perhaps somebody has done something with it for accessibility. If all else fails, try Excel 2010; it has a large bunch of defined functions, and you can import the results into Word 2010.
