Perhaps this is something obvious, but have you checked in W-E control
panel under your keyboard settings? Under the voice sub-branch, is it
set to words with interrupt or words with numbers interrupt? Also, under
keyboard, the "other" sub-branch, if interruptability is set to "all keys?"
Best regards
Jacques

Very close. If i were to go to the desktop, Window eyes starts reading
everything on the desktop. Even hitting the control key doesn't shut the speech
up. I am using Windows xp home on a Laptop. If I hit s for something as I said,
that is fine. But it is slow to respond. I have tried this with three
synthesizers.

Hi Duyahn,
If I understand what you're doing, this isn't happening to me with 7.5 and
vista, so I wanted to ask what operating system and what version of WE you're
using?
I press windows-m to minimize everything, and I end up on my desktop. If I
press S as you indicated, I move to the first icon which begins with S and it
is said. If I press it again, I move to the second icon which begins with S,
and so on.
Is this what you're doing, but you're getting something completely different?

Subject: typing interuption
Hi folks:
The subject says it all. When I use Window eyes and try to type a certain
key on the desktop, Window eyes is very sluggish in responding. For instance,
if I type the letter S, for Skype Talking, I have to hear everything else that
starts with that letter. That part is fine but, the fact that I can not
interupt the speech is annoying. Even hitting the control key to silence the
speech doesn't work either. I have had to unload Window eyes and try other
screen readers to see if I am getting the same issues and I am not. I don't
know if something in my settings is off or has gone crazy or what. Then I have
noticed that Read to end is not working correctly as it should. If i open
Notepad and start reading a document, Window eyes will stop half down the page
and I have to issue the command again. I again, am not sure why this is going
on. If anyone can help me off list so I don't bomb this wonderful list, let me
know and I will give you contact information to contact me at. Oh, and one more
thing. I am using Windows xp home on a Dell Lattitude 520.
