Hi, is the compose window maximized? Usually if this behavior happens it could be as simple as maximizing the window. Also, if something is on the screen somewhere, such as some unanswered message box or dialog, it can prevent things from reading correctly.

Cheers.

Cigarettes are much like cats. Perfectly harmless unless you put one in your mouth and try to set fire to it.

Hi All:

I received a call from a woman running Windows XP, Outlook Express, and
Window-Eyes Version 7.11. Here’s her problem. Her computer’s hard drive
recently died, so she had to have everything re-installed on the system.
Ever since this has happened, when she’s in Outlook Express typing
e-mails, she can’t use the arrow keys to move right or left through the
e-mail message she’s typing. If she presses an arrow key, she hears a
“ding” sound like there’s nothing there. Yet, she can hear the whole
message, just can’t get to and correct individual mistakes.

When she initially called on me for help with this problem, I had her
press control-insert-c to dtry determining the cursor, and I believe
Window-Eyes said No Cursor Detected. She, apparently, has contacted GW
Micro since that first call at my suggestion and was given several
suggestions which haven’t worked.

Today, she called back and I took a look at three things. I took a look
at her e-mail font settings and did not see anything unusual. Then, I
had her go into her display options and I saw her screen resolution was
up at 100%, so figure that’s OK. Finally, I helped her check that she
has the most current version of set files installed, which are version
1.5 for Outlook Express. She does have these.

Has anyone seen this behavior and if so, do you have any suggestions for
resolving it?

Thanks,
