Michael, that was me.  

I suspected that my trouble started either when I began using the WE apts, or 
when I downloaded the .1 of WE 7.5.  

I was going to turn off apts and if that didn't cure the problem, then 
re-install WE from a clean start.  

Yesterday I turned off the 3-apts I was using.  They were the Hourly chime, 
Window Maximizer and Progress Indicator.  

I think there are two apts that announce the hour.  One will also announce 
every 15 minutes but that is not the one I was using.  It was the one that the 
voice came on, on the hour and said the time.  

So far, that seems to have cured the problem.  I'll need a couple more days to 
make sure.  And if things are running right, then I'll reintroduce the apts one 
at a time.  

Someone on the List suspected it was the Window Maximizer so I may introduce 
that one first.  

When and if I track down what is causing the problem, I'll let you all know.
