Hi Peter, I'll be out of work this week (where I have access to Word 2010), and so will look at this next week. however, there is a work-around if you use the Word Advanced Features app (I wrote). It has a hotkey to create a placemark, and it has a hotkey to select the text between the placemark and your current position. It would function much like what you're trying to do with extended select mode. (it occurs to me, I should say that if you have this app already, you should try the extended select mode with the app disabled, just to be sure it's not the cause; if you find that it is, please let me know with a direct email to me). thanks. hth, Chip

Press the F8 key to turn it on; press any punctuation mark to make the selection up to that mark; the press of that punctuation mark turns Extend Selection off instead of making the desired selection. Is there a work-around? If not, I will have to uninstall WE 7.5.2 just as I did for WE 7.5.1. Peter Duran If you reply to this message it will be delivered to the original sender only.
