This whole word issue is ridiculous. Having been a long fan of Word
Perfect, I had to succumb to MS Word because W E would eventually not
work with that one either. So, I figure MS is what everybody uses, and
sweated it out to learn to use it, even the blasted ribbon thing. Now, I
find it absolutely appalling that I'm having to jump through hoops and
land on my backside trying to get my spell check to work, and it just
won't. I literally can't get my work done. Exactly what is the purpose
of all of these upgrades because for me they are becoming less and less
productive in my work environment. More and more things that worked
perfectly fine are being smashed to smithereens! I have to say I am
quite annoyed about this whole thing. Exactly what is the purpose of
these upgrades and what are they supposed to be improving because I've
been seeing things getting worse. As soon as the new W E control panel
came out, and I can't understand why that had to be changed either as
things were fine, it's been chaos in terms of productivity. Please,
please fix this total mess because I will not purchase another upgrade
unless something is done about it. Now I have to still figure out how to
spell check my documents because 7.5.2 can't hack it. Yes, I've called
tech support, and they told me nobody ever reported this problem, which
I find hard to believe. They suggested the stupid alt semicolon
solution, but I'd like to type as much or less than I do now, not more.
And the hot keys do N O T work anyway. And where does one hear the list
of possible replacements? Not on my computer, no matter how frantically
I use the arrow keys to navigate a list which I know is there.

Have either of you tried ALT-SEMICOLON and ALT-SINGLE QUOTE?
These will take you to previous and next spelling error respectively.
They work fine for me in Word 2007. They're certainly easier than
unloading WE and installing another piece of software.

Hi,
Don't bother trying word 2003 either. That is what I'm using and if I want
to do spell check I have to dump WE and load Jaws.<grin>.
I have been using word 2003 since 2003 and have always been able to do a
spell check with WE. 7.5.1 was kinda funny with spell check but 7.5.2 will
not read the mispelled word or the list of suggestions.
Thank goodness we can download a demo copy of another reader or you would
get an F in the english lit class.

I have had to struggle with the same issue with Word spell check for
sometime, as well. For me, the same issue existed even with Word2007 and
Windoweyes 7.5.1. I have reported the issue and asked for help to no avail.
I finally gave up and stopped trying. I hope it will be answered or
resolved this time.
Solomon.

Hi everybody. I have a problem with MS Word 2010 ever since installing
WE 7.5.2. When I do a spell check, I cannot get it to work. It won't
read the misspelled word, won't read the corrections and the alt W and
alt R won't work either. It seems like the windows where it expects to
find things are not in the right places. Are there settings in Word
2010 that would help my situation? Right now, the spell check is of no
use and I'll have to go back to 7.5.1. Or I could re-install word @2003
which broke with 7.5.1 and hope it works with 7.5.2. In that case, when
I went to 7.5.1, I could not do page headers and footers in word 2003.
I'm really quite frustrated with functions in word getting broken when
I upgrade because my work depends on it and I waste a lot of time
dancing around to make things work -- page headers and footers in 7.5.1
and now this spell check nightmare with 7.5.2 in Word 2010 which I
didn't want to use in the first place because I don't like the ribbon.
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks to all.
Mary Anne, very frustrated
