Hi: For all the years I have been installing Sql Server Express using that Install Manager Wizard I have had problems with some controls and especially the tables, data grid view or gridview contents but have made it work. I have found the same problem with check boxes in other applications along with selections in multi-selection controls not reading the state of the control as well. When I do something critical like mucking about with a server and I find something doesnt work as I expect I get sighted help and make notes on that product in a text file for later reference. Those problems you mentioned have been there in WindowEyes since 2005 or even before that and I had noted them to GW back then. When downloading a server I use my notes or just remember the state of checkboxes when a wizard form or window comes up. Now that we are into the world of HTML5, CSS whatever and WPF and UIA I guess they are in an excellent position to address control interfaces and child control states etc... That is if they can do it. Hay, as the sports guys like to say.... It is what it is! It really will eventually fall on government or the courts to ensure accessibility in this market of extremely complex and competitive technologies. Hello all, I just thought that the community may benefit from this. I run SQL Server 2008 R2 Express and Developer editions on my Server and workstation respectively, but I have issues seeing the state of the checkboxes during installation, upgrade, and add/remove features states of SQL Server. Is this a WE thing? (at least WE tells me that there are boxes to be checked for JFW doesn't give me even that information). The only problem is that it will always report a box as unchecked regardless of the actual state of the checkbox. Has anyone else noticed this? It drives me crazy as I don't know what I'm checking and unchecking in the features dialog, and that could be detrimental for the attack surface of a production server. Any info or resolutions would be good. Thanks. Katherine Moss, Administrator of the AccessCop Network, previously Raeder24.org.
