Sandy seems to remember some poll of list members in the distant past that
convinced GW Micro to operate their list in a non-standard manner. I
suspect that the only poll was of the staff of GW Micro who have to monitor
the list.
Since past discussions like this one have never caused GW Micro to change
their list policy, maybe they should write a little app that reminds us each
time we want to reply to a message that we must jump through an additional
hoop to get the reply sent to the GW Micro list.

Sorry Sandy but you are in the minority. I have been on many many email
lists over the years and they have always been reply to list. Also, its so
easy to manage the various lists by filtering into folders. So maybe you
cannot read all emails in a day? By using filtering, you can easily choose
which list to stay on top of and read other folders later.Simple! And
meantime, we can actually read answers to questions! Whats so bad about
that, eh?

The big deal is that MOST email lists/groups do not have this and so
its safe to say that MOST list members here forget when in fact they
want their reply to go to the list. It does get frustrating.

I think it strange too. Most often mailing lists allow for that kind of
thing by default. It could be that the mail server they use doesn't
allow for it though.
