Greetings,
We did have a small, very talented group of beta testers who provided
much very useful and helpful feedback. However, as this is an initial
release, there are bound to be problems and growing pains as many more
users begin working with the program. Support for other screen readers
(including NVDA) should be working. The fact that some do and others do
not is something we will be looking into.
Also, keep in mind that this is just another way to access the Skype
service. If you're happy with Skype Talking or whatever you have been
using before, then by all means keep using it if you prefer. Our
eventual goal is to match the official Skype client feature for feature.
However, as Skype has had eight years to perfect their service and this
project is only three months old, it will take time.
Thanks and best regards,
Steve

Yes. I agree there are issues, but come on guys, it is 1.0. Nothing will
be right first time, otherwise why develop it further. I realize these
bugs should have been ironed out in some beta, but it looks like this
project went on behind the scenes and I guess they overlooked these
bugs. Just some thoughts.

OK, I have downloaded gw skype, installed it, and was trying to get to
the options screen with control P. First time, it didn't work. BTW, I
put in the user name and password wrong by accident, I honestly don't
remember my password, LOL, anyways, I tried to get to the options screen
with control+P, and it didn't work, the program just went unresponsive.
This is probably due to my sapi5 being broken. Please, don't ask me if
I've tried repairing it, I've tried all repair tools, none work, and I
will not reinstall windows just for a stupid API that can break so
easily.
I kind of thought GW skype would recognize NVDA. Hmm, guess not, so I'm
going back to skype talking for now.
