Hi all,

Just an FYI to let you know that I've dusted off an old app of mine and
re-released it, named Windows_Annoyances.

It's designed to correct minor Windows accessibility annoyances; right now
there are two: the first is that Windows XP, Vista, and Win7 all have a
problem where the slider which changes the video resolution doesn't cause
anything useful to be spoken as you cycle it between it's values (GW used
this to demonstrate the power of scripting in their early scripting
sessions).

The second is Vista and Win7 only, and the problem is that sometimes if you
switched to a Windows Explorer window you would find that you weren't
positioned on the list of files and directories, but on some other control
instead. Now the app makes the list of files/directories immediately have
the focus if you activate a Windows Explorer window. (this fix had
originally been released as an app named Vista, which I later withdrew so I
could fix it up and extend it to Win7).

Like all new apps there's a menu item in the Apps menu for this app, and it
has a choice for emailing the author should you have an idea for other such
places in Windows which aren't entirely accessible. Unfortunately, I won't
have access to a pc with XP much longer.

Enjoy,

Chip
